A show home parade in Watermark at Bearspaw, featuring three models — each with a triple-car garage and measuring more than 3,000 square feet — will be unveiled to the public at noon Saturday. The launch will be celebrated with an event featuring family-friendly activities and food trucks.

The parade features one model each from Astoria Custom Homes, New West Luxury Homes, and Wolf Custom Homes. In this community, homes with the lot and GST start from $1.2 million.

“The new show homes make up Watermark’s fourth show home parade and provide stunning examples of the type of luxury estate homes available from our builder group,” says Matthew Jones, senior director of development for Macdonald Development Corp., the community’s developer.

“The new show homes showcase the latest trends in the estate home market and are sure to impress visitors with their attention to detail,” he adds. “Watermark’s builders offer various floor plans to suit any need, and all have the ability to design and build a plan that is 100 per cent customized to their clients’ desires.”

For people who are looking to move in sooner, Jones says each builder also offers a variety of homes that are available for quick possession.

The show homes include the Manhattan by Astoria, the V’dara by New West, and the Carnegie by Wolf.

The Manhattan is 3,559 square feet with three bedrooms above grade, and 1,569 square feet with two additional bedrooms in the lower level.

Featuring modern West Coast architectural style, the V’dara has 3,674 square feet and four bedrooms above grade, with 1,464 square feet and another bedroom in the lower level.

Wolf’s Carnegie is 3,400 square feet above grade with a 984-square-foot lower level. There are three bedrooms above grade, and the lower level has one.

Watermark has earned awards at the local, provincial, and national levels of competitions put on by residential industry associations, Building Industry and Land Development (BILD) Calgary Region, and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association.

The community has been approved for 479 homes at build-out, and about 200 homes have been built to date.

People interested buying in the community have new opportunities, following a recent release in a stretch of Watermark that Macdonald Development calls Phase 5. It includes 17 lots that Jones says have garnered “a lot of interest.”

“The lots range in size from 0.28 acres (0.11 hectares) to 1.13 acres (0.45 hectares) and include walkouts, waterfront lots, and lots backing on to one of our cascading pond systems,” he says. “In addition, the new phase is located adjacent to Watermark’s central plaza, offering great access to a playground, National Basketball Association-sized basketball court, outdoor pavilion with kitchen facilities, picnic tables, barbecues, and a fire pit with amphitheatre seating.”

Watermark is accessed by taking Country Hills Boulevard or Crowchild Trail to 12 Mile Coulee Road. Show homes are open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. on Fridays and weekends, and closed on Monday.
